About You:

We are in search of the next talented Key Account Manager based in the West Region to join our growing team! Specifically, our Convenience (C-Store) and Military channel is expanding and we are excited to bring on our next superstar to help expand in this segment! We are seeking an experienced and results-driven person to lead within the organization and to ensure maximization of sales and distribution of all Icelandic Glacial products and packages within his assigned National Accounts.  This position must ensure the reliable and efficient delivery and merchandising of our products and control related costs, someone who will be a key contributor to the development of our business within a specific business geography. This position motivates and influences to gain and buy-in from assigned distributors and retailers. Time is spent generally as follows: 70% focus on distributor/retail customer calls; 10% focus on strategic planning with wholesalers and regional accounts; 10% focus on administrative issues such as pricing and scanning issues in account footprint; 10% on compiling monthly/weekly tracking (Compiling monthly pricing sheet for the company ,weekly follow up on win/loses).

Things You’ll Do:

  • Develop a targeted monthly volume and distribution plan to achieve overall objectives by (region, wholesaler and all retailers in current market).
  • Secure and expand distribution in assigned trade channels by setting benchmarks and calling on accounts both independently and with distributor personnel. (Regional / National Accounts and wholesalers)
  • Assist in the development and implementation of programs and in guiding distributor organization to achieve the objectives.
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships at all levels to maximize opportunities for expanded distribution and execution throughout account base of wholesaler accounts (national and regional on/off premise accounts).
  • Analyze monthly distributor depletion reports to identify opportunities, under-performing accounts or potential loss of distribution within the account.
  • Coach, train and motivate distributor personnel to achieve monthly and annual sales, distribution through scheduled and unscheduled meetings, route rides, trade surveys and monthly reports.
  • Ability to manage and participate in Special Events to include working nights and weekends when necessary.
  • Lead communication process to wholesaler network with in the territory assigned. Know all sales managers and key personal within the distributors.
  • Ensures the sales to National and regional accounts delivery, while focusing on Company profitability.
  • To gain distribution and grow Icelandic business in existing accounts
  • Promotional Planning & Execution: Responsible for set-up, execution and managing a range of promotional programs to drive the Icelandic business in retail. This includes working with buyers and Wholesalers on crafting programs to drive the business
  • Portfolio Management: Responsible for set-up of new items, SKU rationalization/changes communication
  • Budget: Responsible for maintain a detailed, ensuring timely processing and forecast accuracy of the marketing budget.
  • Ability to manage and work with wholesalers to drive execution
  • P&L: assist in reaching or exceeding budgeted financial goals with our wholesalers and customers
  • Meets with regular and potential customers to promote product sales and maintain and establish new relationships.
  • Effectively plans, assigns and directs work to ensure optimum efficiency with in assigned accounts.
  • Reviews monthly sales/distribution by account and communicate with the IG sales team to what is needed to insure growth in accounts and wholesalers.
  • Maintains a current list of all active and inactive accounts in assigned National Accounts.
  • Informs appropriate staff of all new accounts and accurately completes the correct forms in a timely manner.

What It Takes:

  • 7-10+ years sales experience in the beverage industry, distributor knowledge required
  • College degree preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential in order to work with all levels within the company, manage vendors, and deliver projects simultaneously within tight deadlines
  • Strong planning and executions skills
  • Must routinely exercise independent judgment and be able to work and think strategically
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and solid grasp of web technologies
  • Working knowledge of Sales Software, Excel, IRI and PowerPoint software.
  • Professional sales presentation skills.
  • Must be a self-starter and a motivated leader – ability to influence employees to perform to the best of their ability.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from wholesale partners, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Requires the ability to work independently, exercising sound judgement and initiative.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving multiple solutions in standardized situations.
  • Travel 50-75%
  • This is a West Coast based position and requires candidate to reside in West region of the U.S.
