Icelandic Glacial Water and Karl. K. Karlsson move forward with exclusive distribution agreement in Iceland

July 15, 2005

Icelandic Water Holdings this week announced its partnership with leading Icelandic distribution and import business, Karl. K. Karlsson.

The deal will see “Icelandic Glacial” water exclusively distributed to the Icelandic market through Karlsson’s extensive Retail and HORECA network, giving “Icelandic Glacial” unparalleled penetration in its home market.

Karlsson Chairman, Ingvar J. Karlsson said, “we specialize in supplying premium brands that stand for quality and innovation. For some time now, we have been looking for a partner in the Still Bottled Water sector who can live up to these brand values. In “Icelandic Glacial” we now have a product in our portfolio that is synonymous with this, both in terms of its exceptional taste and innovative bottle design. The initial feedback from our customers has been very positive”.

Kristjan Olafsson, Director of Icelandic Water Holdings commented, “Although Iceland’s Still Bottled water market is in a relative state of infancy, trends are shifting quickly in favour of healthy, convenient products designed for the fast moving lifestyle of today’s consumer, and that brings a huge opportunity for brands such as “Icelandic Glacial”.

He added, “We are delighted to announce our association with Karlsson, who are ideally positioned to provide tremendous exposure to the Icelandic market. This is a great start to our European roll out plans”.

Supply arrangements will commence in July, with a number of marketing support events planned between the two companies over the coming months.
